    Dave:

Excellent timing, pose, angle. The light is the challenge for this image.

I spent a minute to bring up the eye/face shadows and just a bit under the wing.

You can do a much better job with the raw file, but I think it is worth tweaking a bit more.

    A beauty.

    Randy

If you have a bit more room, I might give the wing tip a little more space, but thats minor.

Killer shot Dave. Prefer OP. Light angle doesn't bother me either. Very well done. Minor, but go with Randy on a tad more room for the wings.

Great posture and sharpness, you did well to retain detail in the darks, and the side light is interesting, works for me because it accentuates the feather texture. I like Randy's suggestion of lightening the darks a bit more

Amazoing pose, species, BG, perch, sharpness and colors, light angle though is less than ideal IMo.

Absolutely gorgeous---the only thing wrong is that it is not my image!

Thanks to all for looking and for comments.
Here is a repost with the shadow areas a bit lighter.
I hope this is betters it is starting to show a bit to much noise for my liking?

Hi Dave, Im going with your OP. I feel the light is enough to show up the feather detail, even in the shadow areas. I like the left foot about to touch down, and killer BG too. I agree with you that your repost does show a bit of noise. LC Sunday???

    If only the sun...
I would have take it to a different direction, leaving the under wing a bit darker (that bring out some noise)
I like the landing pose very much.
