    Just a common Grackle at Wako. 1D MarkIII, 500mm f/4 @ f/4, 1/1000 ISO 400. Just a little sharpening and saturation.

    The pose, colors, iridescence and BG look great. My only suggestion is to sharpen it a little less.

    Which one is it, common or boat-tailed? :)

    Love the irridecent colors, looks like it was probing in mud. Where is Waco?

    Wako is short for Wakodahatchee, a man-made wetland next to the water-treatment facility in the middle of town on Jog Road in Delray Beach, FL. It's always crowded with walkers and gawkers but is loaded with wildlife.

    Very beautiful capture Susan. I was out of town so did not see this post. Wonderful light and pose with superb irredesence.
