    Hi All
Do you have some suggestions about what, if anything, can be done to smooth the bg to the right of the bird. I have tried a couple different blur layers (box and gaussian), but the distracting branches still hang in there.

Of course, all C & C's are much appreciated.

    Cheers

    Default Healing Brush

Gail, I've played around with the healing brush tool sometimes and have been successful. It wants to blend all the colors and textures together. First, mask off the bird first so it doesn't pick up any of the birds colors. I did a quick mask and inverted the selection and then used the healing brush. This took me about 60 seconds. I only did the right side, but it gives yo an idea. If you work a little harder I think you can get a great background. Good Luck....

    Gentlemen
Thanks for the repost and the comments. Really helpful. I don't know why I didn't think of the healing brush?

You really have good feather details here and two berry in the beak is a very big plus. The repost with healing brush sure looks good.
