This is a Spoonbill image from the afternoon Louise and I went out on James Shadles boat in Tampa Florida. I was able to get some nice images of this Spoonie landing among others and some other species as well while with James. A very productive day with a very nice person as well. I recommend going out on James' Boat to anyone who is looking for these types of images, both this one and the last image I posted.
May be off the Internet now for a few days...sigh.

Hi George,
Lovely image. Nice light and colours. I am not an expert in bird photography, but I feel the band at the bottom is bright and is slightly distracting. Anyday, I would love to shoot such an image.
Sharp, lovely light, coming towards you. The cupped left wing bugs me a bit. And yes, the soon-to-be replaced Hooptie rocks, as does Froggie.
later and love, artie

Well Artie, I will take this one anyday. I now you live there and can get one anytime. Lovely creatures. To us New Englaners however, this rocks! Great one George. Hey James; maybe next tiem I come down to stay with Craig, we can hook up with you and Blake. See you and miss you buddy.
Beautiful image. Nice, warm feel with a sharp head to boot. Wish the left wing had opened up just a bit to show the rounded feathers rather than the sharp edge. I'd see if I could eliminate the single dark spot in the lower right (as viewed). Very nice.
Steve
I love the warm feel of this, the great background and the beautiful bird coming toward you. I agree with Steve about the small dark area. Terrific image!

Alright, George! Score! I don't mind the cupped wing, the black behind the spoonie is something I might consider removing... Otherwise, sharp, gorgeous light and beautiful subject to boot! The Hooptie Duex is going to rock even harder...
