From the North End at Jamaica Bay. Cloudy , soft light and no one around. This Yellowleg seemed to be enjoying the calm, quiet afternoon.

Beautiful peaceful scene you captured here. With the face pointing to our left I would have placed the bird further right instead. I would also clone/patch out the OOF debris in the lower part of the image. Nice soft light!

I like the mood, light and calm water and agree with Dan about removing the gray patches in the foreground and putting the bird further to the right in the frame.

Yes, negative space is on the wrong side, but very sweet pose. It should be easy to fix and clean the water a bit :)

No, the negative space is on the right side. I might prefer it on the left, but that's my preference. No right or wrong here.

Enjoy the symmetry of the reflected and incident yellow legs. I sometimes add a vignette to images like this to further their gentle mood.
    Enjoyed it - thanks

I like the look/feel of this one Joe. And I'll go against the grain on the bird's position because I like the way the bigger "C" curve of the body and reflection are facing into the open space of the frame. But I barely passed Art in high school so keep that in mind.

Thanks to all for the suggestions. As a photo camera club judge I generally look to the "rules" for guidence , but I also like to think outside the box every so often. Hence my choice for this comp.
