    I am more amazed there are beaches that strewn with litter in the U.S. Makes me appreciate the ones we have in Fl.

    I've seen quite a few places like that in the Northeast, milk containers and other boxes are great camouflage for snowy owls. :)

    This is in Jersey City on the Hudson River. NOt a beach in the conventional sense. Not an excuse for stuff thrown in the river but its not a swimming beach. BTW, as a warning to anyone who may want to locate the bird for photography, the birder who is quoted in the article was creating quite a ruckous last winter over photographers allegedly getting too close and/or using flash on the snowy owl that appeared in this general area. I believe he called the police several times.
