    Default Moorhen Sprint

This is what I call an opportunist shot. Whenever I hear little feet scurrying across the water, be it a coot, or a moorhen, I raise my camera, and if the subject is not running away from me, I press the shutter as I did here. I quite like the how the water has shot up from his run, and although the splashes are not sharp, as this was a fair distance, I did manage to get the moorhen sharp.

Cool that you caught him before he passed you. I like the raised wings and calling pose and might sharpen the splashes behind the bird, too.

    Stuart,
This is nice. It is great that this fellow is running parallel to you. The streaks in water (waves) form a nice pattern. The water thrown up forms a nice repetitive pattern.

    Cheers,

    Nice capture Stuart:

I couldn't resist working on your splashes a bit. Lightened them, increased contrast, added a bit more blue. It is pretty subtle, you almost have to look side by side, but I thought it added a little more punch to the water trail.

Splashes are such strong visual elements, always fun to work on them.

    Cheers

    Thanks guys, and thanks Randy.

Randy, good work on the splashes with the added blue. I really tried to sharpen them, but was losing IQ. Thanks for the tip if ever needed in the future. Cheers.
