    This old man still dominates his area and no other animals come close to his kills.

    big old black-mane! seeing this photo makes me salivate at the prospect of my upcoming trip Dave. Great in-your-face snarl and expression...also love the wind-blown mane...

    Hmmmm... not teeth I would mess with. As you said, these guys are so powerful. Was he about to yawn, or is the process of a roar coming on. Either way, well timed Dave.

    He's got character for sure. Love those fierce canines, especially compared to the little front teeth.\Very impressive image!

    Very strong image - pun intended! The teeth portray the power. The canine on the left looks broken. this guy must have been around the block a few times! I wish the bright dead grass blade were not on the LR mane.

    Still catching up what a great looking Lion, thank goodness there are still some truly monstrous black manes about. You never see anything as good as this in the Okavango these days.
