    Default Bathing Sanderling

Photographed at Sandy Hook this morning. The shorebirds were quite active and not overly skittish.

Beautiful! Lovely light. I love the way you have caught the water drops.

    Axel:

good shooting and head angle. Love the flying drops and the blurb of water going up body.
    Soft light, very nice.

Might try a bid off bottom and add a bit more to the right.

    Cheers

Nice angle, light, and BG color. I like the way the flying droplets surround the bird and the water coming off the back and shoulder.

Axel, I'm not sure about his image, it seems to lack your usual detail, esp in the whites. I do love the flying drops and the water on his shoulder.

Great capture Axel! I have to agree with Grace however, this post lacks the "superhuman detail" that your posts usually include! BTW, Is this a Semipalmated Sandpiper?

Thanks for the suggestions. I compared my laptop and desktop where I do the post-processing. The brightness on the desktop was quite a bit lower, I will work on it again tomorrow.

Dan, I think it is a sanderling but it would not be the first time I get a shorebird species wrong. :)

I like how his chest has pushed the water in front of him, and good to see the sprayed droplets. I would maybe take a bit off the bottom.

Lovely image, the water that falling from the shoulder adds a lot of interest.
I like the light, flying drops, sharpness, angle, BG and FG.
Agree with taking some from the bottom. I'll add some top and right.
The whites are too bright on my monitor.

Whether Sanderling or Semipalmated, the bird looks good and I like the pose. The only thing I am wondering is about the white between the wing and the water. It looks very bright and like it could use a bit more detail on my monitor.

You are right Axel. This is a Sanderling. Black shoulder is unmistakeable.
I love the image as the water moves on its back. Whites has less detail but it is mentioned.
