These siblings have been posing for me for a few weeks now and I am always amused by their line-up.

This made me smile. :) Cool angle, light, BG and the similar head angles make it even stronger.

I like the idea, light, and low angle. I think this would have worked better as a horizontal with more space in front of the lead bird, and the last bird not being cut off. I do want to say that I really like it as is though.

Fantastic lighting. I like the color tones and the details.

Adrian - many thanks for this. I did have doubts about the composition so here is an alternative

I like your style and the type of image your hide produce.
The Repost is much better IMO.
The first one seems a little over sharpen on my monitor, just a little.

    Ian:

Well, I actually prefer the impact of the first crop. I would like a bit more on the left side to fill out the body of the rear bird, but think the vertical plays well with their vertical shape!

How do you keep your camera dry? Are you using a right angle finder or snorkel? :):)

Thanks Randy - the pond has a small dam at the outlet. I sit below the dam in a stream, so yes, I keep very dry.:)

    Hi
Love your series on the little cygnets. The low angle, sidelighting and composition of three really adds up to a great image. Thanks.

    Cheers,

Both versions work but I do prefer the first. I guess it would depend on whether you want to emphasize the vertical nature of the necks or the horizontal aspect of them swimming in a line. I might take a little off the bottom of the first post. Nicely done however you decide.

Love the concept. I prefer the second post with a bit more room but both work well.
I would take a little off the bottom of the second post.:D

I haven't decided which I like better - the first has a fabulous impact when you first see it - like Axel said you just have to smile. The second image lacks that punch. You could probably increase the crop just a little to include a bit more of the last cignet.

Whatever way you do it, its a great post
