This one is from two months ago. The bird had been preening (some slight evidence on its lower beak) and seems to be watching a lone feather float to the ground. I sensed a look of displeasure . . . Unfortunately the busy background worked against me here. The image is cropped and tweaked a bit.
Well exposed and sharp, might brighten just a bit and a catch light would have been great Not sure if you did anything to the bg but looks funny just above the bird btw placing the head just in front of the little green clump would have helped but not sure I would have noticed at the time of making the image.
For these we always talk about the low angle but it means getting muddy !!!
The blah! expression makes this one. Suggestions: Set white point on white feathers near the tail (I used 233.233.233) to remove cyan cast. S/H to open shadow details a bit ... and a couple of dabs with a paint brush to brighten the iris and add a tiny catchlight.
Your re-post certainly improves, David. And I hadn't even noticed the cyan cast. I always benefit from your specific explanations of what you have done to an image.
Yep, I must get lower!
And thanks to all . . . I still learn with almost every post . . .
