    Default Whimbrel

Spent about 9+ hours in Wellfleet, Cape Cod yesterday with my newly acquired 50D. I'm already in love with it and is quite an improvement from my old 20D.

One of the ladies at the Audubon Center told me someone "supposedly" spotted a Whimbrel down on the shore mixed in with a bunch of Greater Yellowlegs so I went off to investigate. Sure enough the claim was true and he gave me an opportunity to get pretty close before he started feeling uncomfortable.

I had to get in shin deep water to get the right light angle here and the water really felt nice as it was a warm day. Hope everyone enjoys this one and I have a couple more I'll be posting soon since it is a holiday weekend.;)

    All C/C appreciated
    Brian

Very nice image of a nice bird!
Great pose, head angle, exposure, and detail.

    I'm seeing a magenta cast.

    :) :) :) :) :)

Every feather is sculptured and well defined. Stunning work.

Congratulations on your new toy! :) As for the color cast, if the latest firmware is not installed it might be worth doing it since it is supposed to remove the magenta cast. I like the light, head angle and setting. I'm glad you found such a cooperative model, the whimbrels that I have seen on the cape were quite skittish.

    Brian:

Nice techs as mentioned. I really like the slightly ruffled, fluffed up pose. Great HA, shooting angle good, glad you enjoyed your dip.

    Cheers
