Cool find, I didn't know there are avocets at JBWR. Light, angle and sharpness are really good, too. Maybe a slight crop off the bottom? Could you post aperture and shutter speed?

I love the lighting, still water and the droplet. Agree a slice off the bottom. Really nicely done.

Well done with the beautiful light, reflection, water drop, pose and eye contact. Would be nice to see the shooting info indeed. Congrats.

Beautiful light and pose James. Nice eye contact and water off beak a bonus. Nice one.

He stands out well from the dark BG. I like the water drop.
I would prefer either the total reflection or more cropped from the bottom. I think this could work very well with a pano crop.

The exposure and background are dynamite, love the water drop as well. Agree with crop suggestions

Absolutely awesome... Love the comp on this, cropping the bottom off might slide the eye into the center of the image, creating an awkward "bulls-eye" eye placement..

    I am guessing F/5.6 at 1/500th :) - I dont know why, thats just what I am guessing :)
