    David:

Your little girl is sharp. The flash duration looks like it was still a bit long as their is some ghosting of the rear wing. There is a sharpening halo around much of the body and wings.

Just from personal preference, I find the BG too neon like. If you had a image just before her bill entered the flower, I think it would display better than having her bill so obscured.

I know it sounds like I am really hitting this one, but I think you are close. By the way, are all the flashes the same model?

    Cheers

    Randy

Well I can see an eagle down river perched on a tree from about 800 yards so I know I can see. I see only a really excellent hummingbird in need of using Photoshop CS2 or later under Image-Adjust down to SHADOWS/BRIGHTNESS. Play with those slides and in less than a minute you will have the darker highlights you need.

BTW, I am an angel and I would know a halo when I see one. I do see a slightly darker green next to the top of the right wing only which a nice big lasso including this are welected, Selection-Feather 20, and then Filter-Blur-Gausian at< 5.8 will fix up too.

Nice flash work, pose, and exposure. The columbine is a bit to big, and non-native looking to me, and I agree with Randy on the BG. I don't agree with Peter as the highlights look fine to me, and the halo is the ghosting that Randy mentioned. I would also crop some from the top, and run NR on the BG.

Thanks much for the feedback. I can see where my mask work was shabby... I need to pay more attention to that when working on images on the laptop. I think the "halo" is actually a color difference where the masking was not done as well as needed.
