    Default Stilt Sandpiper

    Ashtabula County, Ohio | September | Canon 50D | Canon 600mm f4 IS | 1/1250 f4 ISO 200
taken at first light Tuesday morning. The grass growth and water levels have been really perfect the past few weks. I love how the vegetation adds to the composition and creates supportive elements.

Great low angle and action captured. I might darken the chest just a bit as it seems a little bright.

Very nice photo, I really like the habitat you got this guy in. I only wish for a slightly better head angle, and I would probably remove some of those highlights on the bill. Maybe some sharpening on the face... That said, I still wish it was mine.

    Matthew:

    Lovely light,pose, camera angle, environment.

HA has been mentioned, and the head does def. look a bit soft to me.

I agree with Doug about the bill highlights, esp. the distal one.

    Thanks for sharing.

Superb environment colour tones and an interesting active pose. The low angle has made the most of the situation and created a lovely striking image of a beautiful bird.

Stunning shot. I love the sharpness, catchlight, background, foreground, raised foot, feather detail, grasses. Everything comes together to create a very pleasing image.
