Hi Rich,
I like the composition and capture, you have good details on the wasp. You might consider in cropping 1/4 from the bottom and a slice off the right side of the frame...also open the mid-tones just a little and selective sharpen your subject a tad more...congrats on a fine capture...
I made the suggested crop changes which now take me away from the 4 x 6 aspect ratio. I also found that I had neglected to set the white balance to daylight from the RAW image. It's now set to daylight. I made a small increase to brightness and tried selective sharpening.
Hi Rich - love the close up - great advice from Gus - I also wonder if some selective colour adjustments on the blacks and the yellows in the bee would give it a little bit of added ommmpphh.
Keep em coming :)
Strong repost Excellent suggestion for the crop and like the lighter image btw shooting raw I usually leave it on auto wb then tweak later if necessary.
Regarding the crop would suggest cropping to taste rather than ratio.... unless you are framing and don't want to cut your own mats !! Not sure on the bug ID but sure is a nice looking insect !!! ... great tech set up !!!
