    Default Black-crowned Night Heron

2nd September 2009, Kowloon Park, Hong Kong

    Canon 5D Mark 2 and Canon 400mm f5.6 lens

I know a lot of you would like a head turn but this bird was more concerned about looking at the landing zone than turning around for me

Too bad that he didn't do you the favor to turn around. :) I like the pose, perch and BG. If the bird is a regular maybe you will get another chance and maybe a better light angle, too.

This is beautiful, I actually like the wing positioning and seeing the tail feathers.

I like this very much. Position of the bird is very nice on this as it allows a different view. The light and contrast between the wings and the background is very nice.

I like the light and perspective on this one. Different HA and light direction would have changed the image completely and I love this one as is.

Turning around would have ruined the wing detail and graceful sculptured presentation. Hey you all---I thought this was the forum to drop the rules and think about what was really there.

    Bob,
I like the pose as well as the light which makes it looks dramatic. I just wished for a slight head turn your way; not turn around as suggested ...
