Alan:
The potential for a killer reflection shot is here, with the tail joining the bird and the reflection. The reeds kill it unfortunately, and the uneven lighting on the bird hurts as well. I certainly would try to work this bird if you have the chance, as the basic concept is great. The shooting angle was excellent, giving you a well formed reflection.
Good-looking bird, nice pose and reflection. I wish for a better head angle and a cleaner setting as the grass in the BG and reflection compete for attention. I would also tone down the highlights some more.
Killer concept but all downhill after that: uneven light, poor head angle, the reeds above the bird are especially distracting, and the whites are either too bright or blown (most likely the latter). I do love the "C."
