Default Wood Duck with fall color

    Cuyahoga County, Ohio | October | Canon 40D | Canon 500mm f4 IS |
I love the last few minutes of light at the wood duck ponds when the fall colors are most vibrant.

pretty spectacular image Matthew, this high angle works well with the reflection colours.

    Matthew:

Nice bird, liquid gold background. Nice point about the shooting angle for this type of image.
    Sharp, well exposed, posed.

    Cheers

Apart from seemingly needing an ever so slight CW rotation this is a darn fine image Matthew!! Needless to say, the water is as much a highlight as the Wood Duck :-)

Beautiful colors. I agree with the CW rotation; apart from that it simply stunning.

Great image - just imagine if the water was totally still - it would be would be unbeatable in any competition. I'm so jealous that we don't get those colours here - never mind getting the sun :-)

What a dreamy image. As mentioned the water may be stealing the show from this duck.

Superb, Matthew. Nothing more to add to what has already been said. Must make a stunning large print. Great job

These kind of shots are becoming somewhat of a Studebaker trademark! Apart from the near perfect reflection and beautiful water rippels the colours make this one without a doubt! Techs (HA, EXP, body angle, sharpness) are excellent!
