This was taken while photographing the wild horses with Dale Franz in Wyoming last December. It was totally awesome !!!!! Want to go again in June when the flowers are in full bloom.

    Judy,

Great detail on the horse and nice soft unobtrusive BG. Crouching lower would have gotten the head completely in the blue BG w/o the merge at the chin.

    Judy,
I agree with Robert regarding the lower angle. Nevertheless, a fine portrait.

Lovely portrait Judy and tack sharp. There is enough detail in the bg to add interest too. Lower angle already mentioned. TFS

I quite like the BG as presented - gives me a sense of context. Pin sharp in great light Judy!

    Hi Judy Lynn,
As Peter mentioned....tough to get black detail and not blow out the sky......excellent job there! While I understand why seperation may have worked.....I'm not 100% sold on the getting lower angle.....while it would seperate the head into the sky....I do wonder if the horizon line would then be too overpowering??? I like this as presented. Nicely done!

Beautiful horse and details. I like the BG and agree with Morkel on the sense of context. I do not think I mind a little more detail in the BG! Wonderful image!!!

Portrait gives a nice sense of their surroundings. The hint of BG and the snow on the nose add some nice touches. The horizon through the chin isn't too big of a deal for me though I may lighten the darker line a bit to minimize.

Very nice. I really like the light and detail in the horse. I like the little bit of snow on the lip as well.
