    “A Top View”

This little girl was painted with a Nikon D2x, using a Nikkor 105mm f/2.8 IF-ED macro lens with a stacked combination of a 25mm and 20mm extension tubes.

    Image Solution:
focal length @ 105mm / exposure mode @ aperture priority / in camera matrix metering / 1/250sec. - f/22 / exposure comp @ -0.3EV / ISO @ 500 / white balance @ cloudy / AF - Mode @ manual / color space @ sRGB / lighting solution - Nikon R1C1 wireless close up speedlight system; both light units set to ¼ lumen burst with a wide dispersal pattern and attached diffuser. / tone comp @ +1 degree / hue adjustment @ +2 degrees / saturation factor @ +1 degree / support platform – monopod assist.

    Comments greatly appreciated...

Nice. I like the soft colors around the bee, and it kinda looks like he is peeking a look at you:D

Excellent detail in those wings, is this the 105 macro VR? How do you like it? I've heard the old manual focus one was sharper but VR, nano-coat and fast AF makes up for it.

    Hi Arash,
I'm glad you like my top view of the bee. I have the Nikkor 105mm f'2.8D IF-ED macro lens. Its the old one, not VR. :)

Hi Gus. This might be my new favorite! The soft, delicate colors against the sharpness of the bee (who's
charming:)) make this a stunning image!
