Low light, I was wide open with slow shutter and lots of EV (+1 1/3). The orange reflection in ULHC is partially from sun set. I wanted to include the color range from sun set and focus on his landing concentration - hence the crop angle.

I like it a lot Jeff Might have gone even slower for more motion but in these you only get one chance so we just store effects in memory for future shots !! .. the base of the wing might be a little over?

Do like what you are doing with the sun reflection .... your eyes are scanning and looking for things !!! Neat !!!

    Al,

I did not want to go lower than 1/100, I was looking for a wing blur but a static head shot if possible. I got lucky and put the sensor right on his kisser.

Might use multiplier, maybe good enough for now.

Jeff some of the whites are due to the monitors and image is just fine. At times I tried having whites that are just 235 for web presentation just to be on the safe side !!!

If you try the multiplying remember to reduce opacity and can do several times !!!

I like it a lot, the head is sharp while the wings and one feet blurred to give a feeling of motion. The line in the water flows nicely, the sun reflection give the image more story. Well done.

    Gus,

Nice observation. I was on a walking bridge on bended knee. This provided almost a level position with the mallards landing. This would not be possible standing on land. I was slightly above him when the shutter closed, a neat capture angle.

Nice shot and I like your reasoning about the SS Jeff. You have some beautiful light in there too. I like the head sharp, but might be worth experimenting??
