    Going through some old files from the end of last year. This was taken at a birding spot in Cape Town during my summer holidays. This guy looks pretty scruffy, but I thought I would share him with you. The orange in the water is a colour reflection from buildings on the other side of the water.

    I like the angle, light and the BG is quite interesting, too. I only wish for a slightly better wing position and would crop it a bit wider.

    I like the orange intermixed with the blue (thanks for explaining where the orange comes from). I do wish the far wing did not have the neck and head shadow on it though. I agree a slightly wider crop would work well.

    you exposed him nicely mate! like the orange and blue mix too, and agree some more space would suit this fellow.

    Not an easy bird to expose well and you have nice detail in the white and black areas.
    I am also in favour of a wider crop with a bit more added below.
