The moon was visible today in the late afternoon. I moved around and positioned birds on a power line in front of moon and took some pictures. It took me 42 shots to get the correct avian activity.

Created subtle ring affect around moon and vignetting in PS, the balance is natural.

Hi Jeff - another intresting one form the series - enjoyed them immensley.
Love the added vignetting to draw the eye into the picutre. Thinking I might have liked a slighlty different angle so that the powerwires didn't intersect the moon.
42 shots - good on you have to work your subject when you get the opportunity.

Good work- Like it a lot :)

Lance, thanks for your feedback and kind words. Initially, the birds were setting on the lines so I wanted the intersection to show the hand of man (wires) against the moon. Then, they kept flying around so I decided to try and catch one in front of the moon. When I finally did, the line was used as the landing pad, so no matter what I tried the line was in play. I like the interaction and had planned it, but see your point.

Hi Jeff. Good thinking to see this situation and capture to an interesting image! I like how the wires and the birds are mostly in the left of frame, offsetting the moon. Good use of the vignette also. Nice series - I like them!

Hi Jeff...I think is my favorite of your series. I think you got a good placement of birds in your composition. You might try feathering the vignette a bit more! Congrats!

Hi Jeff. Love the feel and great placement on the birds. Personally I might like to see the moon less centered, and I might lighten it a tad. That said though, I really like it regardless! Would probably look great in B&W :)

Love what your doing with this series Lots of thinking for this one you took your time !!! Love it About the only thing I would do is lessen the vignetting for a smoother transition and will still draw the eye to the center Big Congrats !!!

Usually I don't like vignetting but this one does help draw my eye to the moon, good job. The placement of the bird flying across the moon is excellent. You can also try this shot again during different cycle of the moon, like a full moon, just an idea though.
