    Default Simple willet...

Captured a couple of weeks ago at La Jolla Shores.

I like the pose, detail and color neutrality of the shot which, IMHO, helps make the bird a lot less bland than usual.
Not entirely sure about the dark areas in the background though.

    Comments most welcome,

    JLuc

Looks like a windy day! :) I really love the shorebirds and this guy looks nice. I love the background for the upper part of the body but not the darker parts down around the legs. Also could use a bit more room around in my opinion.

You had some nice light to work with here. I like the comp. The uplifted foot implies motion. Image might need a bit more sharpening. Overall a fine image.

Jean Luc, Good to see you here. I thought that I recognized San Diego; guess that you got some sun. Nice bird, nice light, but the BKGR does nothing for me... When you have a sec., go to the UC Panel and change to your first and last name.

thanks and later and love, artie

    Hi,

The composition works well. You also have a nice warm light. I think you need more sharpening in this image.

I like the overall pose.....but the wind and Bg are less than ideal.

The ruffled look is a welcome change and a breath of fresh air to me. While some are bothered witht the bg's darker areas, it is ok or passable. If it bothers you, can it. i like diversity, so long as it is tastful. Very nice exposure here and comp. Uplifted foot is priceless.
