I have cropped this image like this because I wanted emphasis on the baby but I can't manage to get anything on a third line or cross.:o The original is underneath - how would you crop it?
    Thanks so much for advice.

Original before crop - the "bandit " is as taken. To get him properly in focus I should have gone for deeper DOF but didn't have much time to grab the shots as they came running across the road in front of us and I particularly wanted the Mother\baby shot.

Will wait to see what everyone comes up with Neat base image ... and for certain there are two images here .. full frame and crop can stand on their own and are strong !!! Big Congrats !!!

Jeni - I played around with alternate crops and settle on one almost identical to yours. It certainly highlights the mother's intensity and puts the youngster center stage. I like it as is. Terrific image

Jeni, I really like the original. With selective focus you have already made Mom and baby stand out more IMO. Agree with Al, that there are two pics in there if you don't lose too much IQ. I am no expert at cropping, but I might take a bit off the top with the cropped shot.

    Hi Jeni,
You do have two images here, but after seeing your original first, I like it the best as far as the intensity and the sense of urgency displayed by the Mom...love at as presented...good show...

Another vote for the original. Mom's demeanor makes the picture, congrats!

Hi jeni...the original gets my vote. I love the imiative pose of the little guy running along side. But if you want to crop ...perhaps just a tad from the top

Hi Jeni, here's another vote for your original image without the crop. Boy, it must be awesome living where you can see these guys in the middle of the day. Nice capture!

    Hi Jeni
I too feel that you have made the optimal mother and infant crop.
However I do like the trailing right forepaw so have done a vertical to show this.
