    Default Ruby-throated Hummingbird

    EOS 50D, 1/125, f/5.6, ISO 400, 500 IS +1.4x

This is a large crop and I removed a branch from over his head.

Hey, Rick. Nice light, BG, and exposure. Has some problems though. The IQ is really suffering from the crop. The bird is both lacking fine feather detail (did you run NR on the whole image?), and way over-sharpened. Also the perch is too big for the bird. Hummers need really tiny perches.

    Keep them coming!

I like the pose, soft light and eye contact. The details don't look so bad considering the large crop. There are some artifacts in the BG. Have you installed the latest firmware? I think there is some magenta cast which the firmware supposedly takes care of.

Nice BG and good eye contact. I like the composition, noise is a minus.
