Meet Mr. Kristy, one of my little friends from my Pops garden. Mr. Kristy wanted me to take his portrait because he was having a special lady friend over, and wanted to impress her...so I decided to enhance Mr. Kristy's good looks and charm by photographing him in high-key...:D:cool:

Gus, I am not into spiders but this is fantastic as a HK image. One of my favorites of yours!! The slight colored shadow puts this way over the top for me.

Excellent composition, Gus. Great macro to start with and the hk effect with the pink shadow makes this a standout composition. btw, what lens did you use for the macro.

    Hi Indranil,
I'm glad that you like Mr. Kristy the spider. The lens used for this capture is one of my favorite Nikkor lens. It is the Nikkor 300mm f/4 IF-ED. Its compact and light weight compared to my Nikkor 300mm f/2.8. I paired it off with a combination of a 1.7 T/C and a 25mm extension tube...:)

Neat image and application Gus. I share your use of the 300mm for a "macro". It gives some nice effects, if not true macro images. Also keeps you further back from the subject, than the 50mm macro!!! ;) :D

You are too much. I am sure his lady friend will be impressed. Hope he got some portrait shots too:) Love the high key and the selective focus, well done Gus.
