HI Richard - now it could just be me - but am I seeing a sort of glow around the head and back area?? Did you add some blur to the BG at all - foreground area at the bottom looks a little weird in places as well.
Like the pose and the HA is good - BG is what it is.

    Keep em coming :)

Lance, I did do a little clean up of the BG, but I went back to the original RAW file and the same little something you might see is on the back and head on the original image before any PS work. It's just the BG. Also the front has varying foreground images and some are in focus and others not. At the Alligator Farm there is a lot of dense foliage to shoot in and around. Thanks....

Looks great. I love "trying" to shoot these birds, I am struggling to get something this good. The detail in the heron is real nice. There appears to be something funky in the foreground around eight o'clock that may be a distraction but that bird is so nice it may not matter.

Maybe I should just blur the entire foreground. Any thoughts?

    Hi Mr. Waas,
I agree with Mr. Peters on the forground...aside from this, I like it, your bird is razor sharp with a good head angle and clear sharp eye...the color rendition is very good...good show...

I would vote for blurring the foreground. Isn't this a tri colored heron?
