Since it looks like the colony at Nickerson is starting to thin out....looked back on a few files from last month. I made it our for sunrise as the parents were teaching a few clamming lessons.....I got him on his own for only a few seconds.
Canon Mark lll with the Sigma 300-800mm lens at 731mm at f9 and 1/320 sec and ISO 1250. Noise Ninja applied in PP.
Lovely light with the head turned just enough to be well lit. I love all the edged feathers and that tiny bill. And I like the frizzy tail but not the missing feathers behind the eye. I would of course prefer a bit more room above and in front. I like to leave the tight cropping to the editors.
