My pond continues to attract only common birds, but I'm not complaining so far! This (pair) had abandoned the area due to airgun attacks, but thankfully returned to produce eight offspring. I changed my workflow a little on this one, adding a little blacks as suggested in Artie's tutorial. Your critique is valued as always.

Ian, I really like the style you present in each of your images. The low angle and the lighting look nice to me.

Once again, the low shooting angle is really good Ian. The eye contact is beautiful and I like the background a lot but I would add a touch of gaussian blur, just a litle bit, to make even better if that is OK with your ethics :-)

PS. I would raise the color temperature a bit

Artie loves this one. The low angle and the wake are killer. What did you add BLACK to?

I would love to see the bird a bit closer to the left frame-edge. Are you from the UK?

    Hey Ian,
Killer angle and love the all around look. I do wonder if going to ISO 400 and adding some to the SS.....to get the water in front of the swan tack would have helped there. May be something you experiment with in the future.

Thanks Artie. I added a couple of points to the blacks and neutrals. I am indeed from the UK, Scotland to be precise. Most of the shots I post are from the same low angle, as I have a local pond that makes it possible to get the lens at water level.

Thanks Ian. I was in Scotland once, with David Tipling. Nice pond. I looked at your image again and gotta say that I really love that BKGR.

You are lucky to have your own pond. It seems to attract all types of critters. Lovely image, low angle as mentioned and I like the wake.
