I like the fluffed-up pose, eye contact and angle and would tone down the whites on the chest and neck a bit more. Yes, definitely a cute little guy, looks like a juvenile.

This is super. Low angle, comp and exposure are spot on. The eye looks great, You can never get tired of looking at these little cuties.;) I do see what looks like some noise around him though and I'm sure an easy fix. Congrats

I like the low angle and side light. Very well exposed and good eye contact.

Great shot, Denise. Eye-level angle is a killer. Makes me want to get back to Sandy Hook.

Though I am not a big fan of sidelight I do like this one. The whites on the breast look fine here. There is just enough of a head turn to get some light on the bird's face.

This might have been the time to take the lens off of whatever it was on and placed it right on the ground on the lens foot. Why? Getting even three inches lower would have placed the bird's body fully against the blue and reduced the impact of the various lower BKGR elements.

Hi Artie, I couldn't take the lens off the tripod as I was sitting in water w/ the water rising. I will keep that tip in mind for next time out-so thankyou.

Beautiful image, Denise. I'm late to the party, but agree with all the kudos given.
