Ok folks, I'm new here and this is my first attempt to upload an image. Art told me of this forum earlier this week (I had been unaware of it). It's a least tern that I shot in May 2006 on the beach near Matanzas inlet, south of St. Augustine. Captured with MkIIN and 100-400L IS lens at 250mm, 1/1250 at f8, ISO 400, partial metering, +1 EV.

    Big Welcome Tim !!!!

Classic tern image Sharp well exposed and excellent wing position I like the light showing through the feathers If anything would take a bit of the bottom and bow up the eye to work and make more visible !!! I like it a lot !!!! Big Congrats !!!!

A very fine first post. I might consider taking a bit off the bottom and adding it to the top?

    Welcome :)

Hi Maxis, and thanks for your comment.

As a matter of fact, I was wondering the very same thing about the alligator farm so I drove down yesterday to check it out. I found that it's still very quiet. There were probably a few dozen night herons, including a few juvies. And I counted 8 spoonbills, all roosing in the same area toward the big oak tree. There was a green heron fishing near the pond, and a handful of white ibis and two great blues roosting in the big oak tree and/or around it. I only saw a couple wood storks. It looks like it will be a little while before there's any good activity there.

    Tim
