    Default Ruddy Turnstone

Seems like I only make it here on the weekends. I took this one last Sunday I believe and just got around to it tonight. It's the first time I've personally seen one and was really excited as I find these one of the prettiest shore birds. I'm not completely crazy about the BG/FG and wish the focus was a little better around the head, still I like this image and hope it's O.K. Thanks for looking. All C/C welcome.

Hi Brian, Good low angle here, well exposed with lovely colours. I feel another round of sharpening on the little guy would work, and I would maybe crop about half off the bottom. Darkening the BG a tad could work too. Just a thought.

Like Stu's suggestions which I feel will enhance this shot. Lovely details and the soft light suits this. TFS

    Hi Brian,
Agree with above suggestions and I would also smooth out the blotchy bits in the BG. Love that the colours of the stones echo those of the bird.
    Best,

I like the super low perspective and stones for the turnstone. Good pose too.

This is as low as it gets...
I like the stones in the FG ( I would probably reduce it too the end of the darker stone)
    I would add some contrast.

I like the angle, eye contact, walking pose and eye contact. Another vote for more contrast and sharpening.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I cropped up a bit from the bottom and boosted contrast and sharpened some more. Hope I didn't over do it.

Really wanted to go take some pics today since it's my first Saturday off in 3 weeks but "Hurricane" Dan doesn't care about my feelings.;):p
