Coopers Hawk at Gilbert Water Ranch, (Gilbert, Arizona)

I was walking down the path when I saw this hawk sitting in the tree. I was aware of the environment but was uncertain if I could get a second shot; so, I took the shot and started to move for a better angle. He flew off before I could get setup.

The foreground is certainly not my friend but seeing this bird in this light at this distance meant that I had to take the shot.

Agreed, this is a nice raptor. Branches are a problem and the image appears over-sharpened.

Angle, eye contact and pose look good. Too bad about the foreground. I would tone down the whites some more.

I agree about the branches and oversharpening but I like the eye contact, composition and bird´s pose a lot

Nice shot with good detail and eye contact. Doesn't look over-sharpened to me but the branches are major distraction.
