    Default Crane portrait

One I took in 2007. I was never really into headshots at the time. But with 13000 cranes in front of the hide and good separation between them what is a photographer to do other than making head shots. I dug this one up and post processed it. I really liked the detail and the eye of this bird. Some of you will probably dislike the wreathered bill, but I thought it gave character to this bird.

    C & C are welcome,

I also think this is a nice portrait and agree with all of the positive comments above. I personally like the "weathered" bill and agree that it adds character. Thanks for sharing.

Close-up portraits are always good to have in your files when the opportunity presents itself...I'm glad you took some even if they are not your preference. Good detail and colours. I don't mind the weathered bill either.

I like this portrait, the details of the eye make this one for me. I might raise the color temperature a bit, the whites have a slight blueish cast on my monitor.

The bill is great in my opinion Krijn and you are right, the eye is otstanding. I agree with Axel about raising the color temperature a bit.
