The original was fairly colorful, so I thought it would be interesting to see how it looked a as B&W. Converted, then continued to dodge the background. I used some Topaz Adjust filters then added the sandstone texture. I would like a little more canvas on the left, but I didn't take the time to add it yet. All comments welcome.

Hi Cindy, I was going to suggest the room on the left also. Love what you did with this. The tonality and texture make this special. I like the subjects pose and his interesting clothing. Good conversion and wonderfully handled!!

Cindy, I agree just a bit more room on left. This is a fantastic rendition! I love the texture-very good idea! The expression tells a lifetime lived. Very nicely done!!

Thanks so much, Denise. I wasn't positive that I liked the texture or should try something else. Glad you like it.

This is superb Cindy...I like this very much, the texture adds character to your subject...aside from a little more room on the left, you captured the human essence, and a moment in time for long time memories...good show...:)

I personnelly like the position in the frame. Like that you turned into B&W and texture.
