    ISO 200

This is my final attempt. For this one I tried a compromise between all of my previous shots. Let me know your thoughts.

Very nicely composed and presented image, Denise. I liked the sharpness and DOF that you have achieved at 5.6! That f-stop also probably contributed to varied bokeh in the BG: smooth at the top and hazy details at the bottom. I feel that adds to the appeal of the image. TFS.

Really like the composition and the green on green Denise. Beautifully captured with excellent detail.

    Denise, I see halo... ok, no I don't! ;) (Private joke! :))

I too like the green on green. I think the image looks really good... maybe as good as QAL can hope to look. My only real wish is that the bottom of the background looked as great as the top.

One other thing. Don't lose that compositional idea that led off the QAL series. I really liked that comp, I just didn't think the QAL fit the "sophistication" of the layout.

    Hey Denise,
No final attempts ever!!!......the 5.6 actually turned out well....although I do wish the UR buds were in focus......but that is minimal! I think your OOTB version is tops and you should put up a link for comparison!

Thanks everyone for your comments, help and tips through my exploration of QAL. It can never be my FINAL-but will have to be my final this year-
Ed, I am going to try a re-shoot of the dramatic look-but thanks to your advice I will choose a more appropriate flower.
Roman, I have posted several QAL in OOTB- Which one?

Oh that one!! I liked the soft look of that one. I'm surprised you did. That may have been f/4?!!

Really nice job, Denise! Other than the OOTB soft version I like this one the best. I agree with Ed that it would be nice if the BG were all as OOF as the top area but it's still an excellent capture.

Denise: I love Queen Anne's Lace and I love it at every stage. You did a great job with this one. It is always a compromise between dof and blurred BG. I think you did well here. I also like the angle of view you chose.
