    EOS-1D Mk III, 500mm f/4L, 1/400, f/4, ISO 800
    About 90% of Full Frame.
    Required rotation and some subsequent cloning in the upper right and left corners.

    Handheld from a Zodiac off of Bonaventure Island during Chris Dodds' Gannets Galore workshop.

    He looks so sad with all those bugs on him! I like the sharpness and the way you controlled the exposure. Perhaps just a bit more head room on top?

    I like the colors. Nice detail in the fur (and the mosquitos!)

    The bugs are small flies and they were everywhere around and on the island in very large numbers.
    Good news was they really didn't bother you much and better yet, they didn't bite!

    Hey Mike,
    I think you did very well with the pose and I like where you chose to cut it.....leaving the paw! Very good job on the exposure too!

    Great eye contact and detail in the seal. I like how the dark background brings out the seal even more.
