    Burrowing Owl at Veterans Oasis Park

    I most often see these guys on the ground and they blend in quite well with Arizona desert -- making for not a very pleasant background. I was surpprised to see this owl tree top level. He stayed around for several pictures before flying off. I like the pose on this shot.

    1/640 at F18 and ISO800
    Bigma at 500mm
    Canon 40D

    I like the pose, sharpness and the unusual perch. There is a dust spot at the right side and I might desaturate the sky a few points. Maybe a slight crop off the right?

    Ditto Axel here , sky looks oversaturated

    It is unusual to see them perched in a tree. Sweet light. Great capture. Wish you got some eye contact.
