    Default Seal From Off The Coast Of Kodiak

    This was taken from a small boat off the coast of Kodiak. It was a rather rough day so the photographing was not the best. I could not help but smile when I saw this beautiful seal lying on this small island just staring at me. He allowed me to get quite close though and it was a special moment for us both I hope.

    Nice comp and I like the way you handled the contrasty situation. However, the image still looks like it has a bit too much contrast on my monitor. I am on my laptop, so it could be that.

    I like the angle of the seal in relation to the rocks. I also like the seaweed and barnacles. For me, the lines of waves in the BG provide a nice, smooth contrast to the sharper texture of the seaweed covered rocks.

    Hi Judy Lynn,
    Maybe a tad less on the contrast but the pose and look is excellent. You even have some detail in the black holes of eyes!!! Nicely done!
