Yellowstone NP in winter is a place like no other. This was taken in Lamar Valley -20F. The colder the better .
I love photographing in the snow, and greatly look forward to returning to YNP this coming winter.

Hey Chas,
Yes to all of the above......curve of river.....placement of trees covered with frost.....but the subtle grays (I'd imagine from fog or rising mist) leading to the mountains.....just great!
Great image Chas, the river leads you though the image very nice composition. I love winter images also since I live in Northern Michigan where it is winter 7 months out of the year
Magical image Chas! From the beautiful lighting, snow covered tree.creek leading line out to the mountains and framed by a beautifully colored sky. Well done!!
-20f? I can't even imagine that cold. Figure your eyebrow would freeze to the view finder..
Beautiful picture, can't even imagine a place like that. I need to get out of Houston more...
