    Hope this is a more acceptable HA. Have desaturated reds and put a gaussian blur on the bg as suggested by Art; think I've blended properly this time. NO borders :o:D

    I like the placement of the bird in the frame. I might have traded a bit of shutter speed for some more DOF in this image. The bird's head looks a little soft.

    Head angle, light and BG look good. I might crop a bit off the left and sharpen the bird more.

    Hi Jeni, you nailed the exposure again, and I find with close ups with a long lens, stopping down always helps for more DOF. I agree a little more sharpening will work. Are these around your area Jeni.

    The repost sure looks better, nice placement in the frame.. just a bit more DOF would have helped.. still loved it.. congrats...

    Jeni, I really like your picture - these birds make interesting subjects, great background and feather detail. Also congrats on your series of pictures on the black-headed heron published in the Aug/Sept edition of Africa Birds & Birding!
