Yellowstone NP in winter is a place like no other, and it remains a favorite. This day it was a balmy -19F. The colder the better ;) I love photographing in the snow.

    Chas,
I prefer this one to all the frozen bison pics I've seen you post. The hint of warm yellow in the BG trees really offsets and amplifies the cold of the snowy bison and surroundings. I think this one is excellent.

I ditto Steve here , this is one best among what I have seen from you
Side view shows the huge size of bison and heavy fur shows insulation class :)

Being a celsius man I had to convert this -28 centrigrade, that is very cold indeed.
It makes me shiver when I look at it, stunning image.

    Hey Chas,
this is excellent and shows the frost off very well and the slope of the terrain just adds to it.....enough BG to convey the environs without being overdone....but I am going against the crowd here......Bison head on is my favorite......but why choose! each is different and very well done.

I also prefer the head-on shot but this is still gorgeous! I also like the contrast of the whites against the hint of yellow at the back...

Love this one Chas and the composition is awesome. Really tells a great story of the great white north and the cold winters. The upward climb seems to emphasize even more the struggle they encounter during those cold winter days. Great capture !!
