Welcome. Killer sharp and a loverly pose. Where? Venice Rookery? Camera body? Active focusing sensor?

Sharpness, eye contact and wing position look very good, I also like the BG. I would raise the color temperature to remove the blue cast and would give it more room to fly into top and right.
Michael, I remember when you shot this. Nicely done. Very sharp and w/great wing position and pose. I see a slight cast but not too much.Nicely done.
Superb! Amazing depth of field for f4.5. I wish the background had been a little further away to soften it a little, but it still works very well.
Great flight pose...the heron looks so light - like if it was floating in air! It may be just me, but parts of the heron's outline look a bit "cookie-cutter"? Enjoyable and fun image :-)
Super! Very nice sharpness and action. Looks flashed- did you use one and if so what were the settings?
Beautiful pose and details, good HA, not crazy about the BG, still a lovely one, congrats..
Michael,
I really like this. Great details and tack sharp. BG works for me. Position of neck and head are terrific but I'd prefer lower or higher wings so his left wing doesn't intersect w/his head.
Beautiful flying position and the raised head is a great bonus.
on my monitor it seems like there's a blueish cast.
