    One of many thousands in the migrating flock at Grand Pre, Nova Scotia recently.

    D300, 300 ED-IF F/4 + TC-17E2. 1/2000, F/6.7, ISO 800, no flash.

    I like the "perch" with the water running over it and over the feet. This looks like a well worn adult. Unfortunately the light angle was playing against you here and this caused the face and chest to be in shadow. A lower angle would have been a good option if it was possible at that location.

    Hi Richard,
    Whilst I agree with Daniel about the light angle, I love the soft colours in the BG and the feeling of movement in the water is beautiful.

    The setting is great and the composition works well, too. Light angle has been mentioned. Could you have moved a bit to your right and lower?

    Yes, the poor light angle here is pretty much fatal with no light on the eye or the face. You did a good job of getting close to single adult.
