    Hi All,
Have just returned from Artie's very enjoyable IPT at Jamaica Bay and Nickerson. This juvenile common tern was definitely hungry!!
It was a real pleasure to meet so many other BPNers at the beach - Grace, Ted, Lou, Joe, Tom and everyone else, thank you so much for your hospitality!

Hi Nicki: This image has that signature Nicki feel to it. I enjoy the nice low angle and the high key effect you've created. Based on the technical info you posted.... would that be a new lens:):)

    Hi Guys!
Thank you both so much for your kind words. Keith, alas, this is not a new lens - I hired it from Artie for my trip last week...this is now top of my wish-list...:D:D
By the way, we have the remnants of Hurricane Bill in the UK today
    Best,

Hi Nicki, I really like the feel of this image. The bird certainly looks to be floating on clouds. The low angle of capture makes this one special in my opinion. The open mouth is also a plus. Your exposure and sharpness also appear to good. Well done and thanks for sharing.

Yes, the bird in heaven look. I like it a lot. A bit off of the bottom might be an option. At least you didn't post a side-lit one! Thanks again for joining us. Me and three lovely ladies and tons of great Indian food. Sometimes you just gotta ask yourself, "Is this as good as it gets?"

Really cool, Nicki. I've seen (and taken) alot of tern images, but never one like this. Very creative. Great meeting you and the rest of the IPT....heard that sometime today 2/3 of the skimmers and terns left.

Very arty (that is as in 'artistic' and not referring to 'Artie' :) ) I like it a lot.

Tell and Grace, thank you for your kind words. Grace, I am so glad that we managed to see the birds before they left.

I think you got the look you were trying to get Nicki! Perhaps a slight contrast and saturation boost. It's only a matter of time before you bite the bullet and pick up a 500!
