What a beautiful and unusual shot. Great wing, feet and tail position. The white on white gives a lovely ghost-like impression. The light filtering through the tail is beautiful. And those eyes! Exposure, sharpness and composition all look great. Well done.

This pose is absolutey out of this world. The details you have captured of the wing tips, the tail and webbed feet, blow me away. My only desire would be to see a bit more color in the birds eyes and head, although I am not sure how realistic it would be since you were there, and I wasn't. Thank you for sharing this gem.

Looks as if you had my very favorite white sky conditions. Plusses noted above. I loved Bonaventure and found out today that one of my images from there will be honored in the NWF contest.

Beamer or no beamer? I would guess not as the use of flash is not evident.

    Congratulations!

Manual flash at full power but no Beamer with the 70-200.
Even with the 1.3 crop factor at max focal length, it's still below 300mm so was concerned
about getting a spotlighting effect. Hard to say how much flash actually reached the bird but
I think some got there or the underside would have been darker.

Very beautiful. I love this shot. Such good exposure and sharpness. Doesn't looked flashed to me either.

Thanks Mike. You got me on the effective focal length.
