Dennis, glad you got your camera back - looks like you are putting it to good use. I love the very atmospheric light, and this is one of those rare instances that I don't mind a high vantage point to the subject. The reflection is rather weak, and including it only brings about a large patch of dark water to the lower part of the image...I would crop away most of said reflection and place the heron closer to the LRC.
On a rare occasion I disagree with Dan. I find the REFL intriguing. I wish for some light on the distal end of the bill. (A bit more head turn away would have yielded that.

Well Im going to break the tie and agree Daniel. I think I would crop most of the bottom away. It's a great shot though and isn't it great to have options when cropping?
All around, this is an interesting image. I like the dark lighting and the mood of the water includingt the somewhat vague reflection. I do agree with Daniel on placing the subject closer to the lrhc.
IMO, you've accurately captured the essence of a green heron in its natural environment. The lighting and overall setting are exceptional. With the suggested crop, or as presented, I like this image.
Thanks everybody for your help it is really appreciated, I think I will keep the reflection. I did shot it horizontal also and will go with that as suggested by Daniel. Thanks Artie for this great site.
YAW Dennis. Thanks a ton for your membership support.

Love the mood of this shot. A natural setting. I'd crop off
some of the bottom, the reflection doesn't really add to the
image. and throws off the composition.
