Sometimes an image is more about the elements contained therein than the degree of fine detail rendered.

Very cool (pun intended). Very nice behavioral and habitat image. The inclusion of the snow make this special. Thanks for sharing.

Very hard to get more detail through snow falling, but as you mention, the action is worth it.

Nice catch with the 600 and doubler. It must have taken some skill to get even this close to this pack!

Nice feel to this one. Howling wolves, one of nature's most stirring sounds.

Wow. I feel like wearing a jacket. The weather is captured very well. Is this at Lamar valley? I had seen a pack at Slough creek( during my last week in 05) that had some black pups.

    Hey Chas,
IMHO....you haven't lived until you hear the wolves howl!!! This would also work in landscapes......as the environs/snow are just as important as the animals. Nobody mentioned it....so I will....you waited for the seperation of the heads...not an easy task with that many. Very well done showing the wolves in their environs!

Incredible image! Love the angle and the falling snow. You can hear the howling by just looking at the image!
Must have been quite the experience.
